Grading info:
Your student will be working though self guided lessons throughout the year. These lessons will me monitored my me for completion and accuracy. The lessons will be turned in and put in skyward. These do not add up to a grade. It is only to monitor the progress of your student.
Throughout the quarters there will be assessments. These assessments will cover the standards given by the state of Minnesota. Each standard will be given a score of 1, 2, or 3.
Please do not try to associate the score with a letter grade. The score represent learning as follows:
1 - Beginning: the student understands little of the standard and needs to proactive more.
2 - Developing: the student understands some of this and needs to practice a little more.
3 - Meets Standard: the student understands everything and can do the math correctly.
The goal of every student is to eventually achieve a 3 on every standard. If your student does not meet the standard they will have a chance the next assessment to show they have meet the standard. The assessments cycle through the standards. The same standard may show up on several assessments throughout the year.
